What are Beeswax Wraps made of?
Our Beeswax Wrap are made of 100% Cotton, UK beeswax, organic jojoba and olive oil.
How do Beeswax Wraps work?
You use the warmth of your hands to help mould the Beeswax Wrap over a piece of food, bowl, dish, etc. The Beeswax Wrap will hold its seal once it starts to cool down. The Beeswax Wrap allows your food to breath. It will keep your cheese, fruit, vegetables, bread, baked goods, herbs, fermented foods such as kombucha, kefir, rising doughs and anything else you want to use them for, nice and fresh! We don’t recommend you use them with pineapples or raw meat or fish.
How to Use Your Beeswax Food Saving Wrap:
1.The wrap is multifunctional and can be used with an array of foods (great for fruits and vegetables like avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, onions, etc. The wrap is insulated and breathable, which makes it perfect for covering rising bread dough and fermenting foods. It can also be used to cover frozen food in the freezer for up to one month).
2.The combination of beeswax, organic olive and jojoba oil that coats the cotton fabric is very malleable at room temperature. The wrap can adhere to virtually any solid food or container and The wrap sticks to itself and not the item it’s wrapping.
3.Place the wrapped produce in either the fridge or the freezer.
4.In the fridge, the wrap will become stiff and hold its new shape. A return to room temperature will soften it.
How to Clean Your Beeswax Food Saving Wrap:
1.Hand-wash your Beeswax Food Saving Wrap with cold water and alcohol-free soap. In cold water the beeswax coating will be stiff, providing a stable surface to clean. The wrap can handle a light scrub with a gentle dish cloth or sponge. For a heavily soiled wrap, run a bit of cold water in your sink, add small amount of mild soap and immerse your wrap. Wash the wrap/s like regular dishes. Do not let soak for a prolonged period of time.
2.Dry your freshly washed wrap with a towel for immediate use or place over a dish rack. Do not wring.

How do I take care of my Beeswax Wrap?
After use, wash your Beeswax Wrap with mild dishwashing soap and cold water, and then let it hang to dry. You can store your wrap in a drawer or on the counter. Every few months we recommend you refresh and re-set your Beeswax Wrap. We have created a video guide to show you this process. Please note this process is for electric ovens only, Beeswax Wraps should not be placed near naked flames, so are not suitable for refreshing in gas ovens.
How long will my Beeswax Wraps last for?
Your Beeswax Wraps can last up to a year and beyond with proper care. After use you will start noticing a few creases where it has been folded, this is just the natural stage of ageing. Your wrap will still work just as well, we recommend maintaining your Beeswax Wrap by refreshing it once a month if you use your wraps regularly. When your Beeswax Wraps life comes to an end you can pop it on the compost!
Here’s what to do when your beeswax wraps wear out
Here’s how to revitalize beeswax wraps that have seen better days:
A quick hit in the oven: The simplest trick to refresh your beeswax wraps is to pop them into the oven on a baking sheet on low heat to remelt and distribute the wax. This will deal with any creasing and cracking. I reuse the same compostable parchment sheet from making the wraps to do this. If there’s a bit of wax still left on the parchment from making them the first time, all the better.
